Hello all classmates fron 1964. In todays Detroit News there was an article on the closing of the Main Theater in Royal Oak. Many comments but I think the following (pasted below) sums it up.

A seminal experience in my movie going, from 1957-1963 I went to Saturday matinees where horror and sci fi films like THE BLOB, I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF, I MARRIED A MONSTER FROM OUTER SPACE, INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS and so many others inflamed my young imagination. Those “shape changers” were particularly scary.

I used to work at the Main theater. It was a nice job, got to see all the movies. At night it was easy to get home, I just followed the tracks down to 12 mile. There was nice grub joint  just across the street. I got to go up and help change the reels some times.  Rick

Gary Cooper

I am forwarding a request to post a message from someone who is not a class member. I have vetted him as much as I could, but leave it to your discretion whether to not to contact him by email.

Dear Gayle,

When you are young one never knows what things will impact your life, that you will remember forever. We only ever share our 9th grade class at Oak Park High. I moved away after 9th grade and we never talked or saw each other again. Through the years I have often thought of you and how your life turned out. I was so saddened to see that you have passed and I am too late to reach out to you. My one regret is not telling you of my feelings for you. You have always had a piece of my heart and it is still with you wherever you are. Love, Gary

If anyone has any information on Gayle, I would be grateful if you could pass it on.
